Finally, a centralized place where you can find "German-American" bands in North America. The website is in its infancy, but will be promoted and added to as time goes by...

    Update:

88 Bands are now listed on the site -- any info you may have of local "German" bands in your part of the country would be welcome...

A website link (preferred), email contact, or even just a phone number...

Are there web sites listing Polish bands, Solvenian bands, Mexcian polka bands, etc.?

Wouldn't it be better to have a unified web site where you could:
search for all Slovenian bands in the US
all Polish bands near Rock Springs, WY
all bands that play either German or Mexican polkas near San Antonio, TX
single bands that play all three of these styles: German, Polish and Solvenian in Pueblo, CO

You get the idea. A unified database would permit more complex searches. It would also avoid the cost of maintaining a separate web site for each ethnicity. It would make the polka industry seem large and powerful.

Perhaps, some of this exists. Enlighten me.

I only have so much time Claude -- I do know from my research that this new website is more complete than most I found. When you do random searches for "German Band" and pick any state, the main site that comes up is gigmasters.

Steve Litwin has a polka musician database that he has worked on for decades. I don't have that link bookmarked right now, maybe Steve or someone else will provide the link here for you...

Here is Steve Litwin's listing of Polish polka bands:
    http://www.polamjournal.com/polka/links.html#BANDS

The problem of having a listing of all types of bands in one place is that typically we are fans of only one type of music and, for example, I'm sure Steve Litwin loves to do this work for his favorite style. However putting together a database like Claude is suggesting would probably feel more like "work" and finding volunteers for such work I'm sure would be difficult.

Thanks for the info, Bob , and for the link to your web page. I enjoyed looking thru it and finding out about bands in Califormia ---It's great that you provide links to band websites, etc. --- It's interesting looking through these : I've enjoyed looking at the sites of K. Lebherz, Roger and the Villagers and the Express Band so far --I particularly admire the stylings and versatility of the Express Band members , and enjoyed watching several of their videos. It's nice to be able to find out about ---and even see and listen to-- polka ( and German ) bands out in California while sittng here on the East Coast---and the links you supply make that possible---so , as they say in German "Recht herzlichen Dank" --- Thanks a lot!
